The Impressionist painters, who created art dealing with everyday scenes portrayed in a loose, brightly colored style, inspired many artists to produce paintings in styles that drew upon the Impressionists' work and took their ideas to new levels. Seurat is the best known painter in the Poinitlist style, which used tiny dots of color laid closely next to one another to create the illusion of forms in complex images.
